Volunteer

Are you looking for volunteer opportunities?

With Election Day on Tuesday, November 3, JACL is partnering with APIAVote and Power the Polls on a nonpartisan get-out-the-vote campaign to make sure Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander voters have the information they need to cast their ballots. You can get involved in several ways, most of which you can do from home.

Phone banking
Join volunteers from across JACL to call AANHPI voters with nonpartisan voting information. No experience is needed, and you can do everything remotely. Training is provided during each session.

Please list Washington, D.C. as your chapter when you sign up. The two chapters whose members spend the most total time on calls will each receive a free quarter-page ad in the Pacific Citizen for all of 2027.

Voter hotline volunteering
APIAVote runs a multilingual voter hotline that helps voters with questions about registration, polling places, and voting in their language. Volunteers staff the hotline remotely, and training is provided. https://forms.gle/2L8MPAKe6jBChdjLA

Becoming a poll worker
Many communities need poll workers, especially those who speak languages other than English. Power the Polls can connect you with opportunities in your area: https://www.powerthepolls.org/JACL

Resources for voters

  • Check your registration or register to vote: https://vote.gov

  • Voting questions in English and Asian languages: APIAVote's multilingual hotline at 1-888-API-VOTE (1-888-274-8683)

Please feel free to share this with family and friends. If you have questions about the campaign, contact policy@jacl.org.
